The multi-talented, extremely funny ABI ROBERTS (who also sings, having been trained in opera at the Moscow Conservatoire), brings her witty one-woman show, ABI ROBERTS IS BEACHED to the Basement, Leicester Square Theatre, London, for FOUR NIGHTS ONLY in December. Dubbed ‘the consummate entertainer’ by the Scotsman and famously compared to the legendary Bette Midler by the Daily Telegraph, Abi’s show is an homage to The Divine Miss M and celebrates the 20th anniversary of Miss M’s iconic, Oscar-nommed movie, Beaches.

As well as performing songs from her brand new cd, BEACHED - THE SOUNDTRACK, Abi will present her own 15 minute movie, BEACHED, which she shot entirely on location in Las Vegas. In this modern road movie Abi goes to Las Vegas to track down her real mother (BETTE MIDLER); her journey takes her along Nevada’s dusty road to Caesar’s Palace…and back. At The Basement, Abi will perform songs such as Wind Beneath My Wings, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and one or two self-penned gems accompanied by The Malcolm Edmonstone Trio. Jazz pianist and composer/arranger Malcolm is famous for working on three series of BBC TV’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for which he plays piano/keyboards and arranges a substantial portion of the music.
