American swing/jazz vocalist and songwriter, STEVE TORME, makes his eagerly anticipated UK debut in April when he brings his lively brand of swing to the Jazz@Pizza Express in London.
Son of the late Mel Torme, Steve will perform favourites from his father's extensive songbook, some classic tunes and a wodge of oustanding self-penned tunes from his album 'So Far'. Tracks such as 'Swingin' At the Blue Moon Bar & Grille', 'Almost The Blues' and 'Pocket Personality' perfectly showcase Steve's tuneful voice, his impeccable timing, smart scat singing and the cool band arrangements.
At the Pizza Steve will be joined by a different British jazz chanteuse on each night:
April 23rd Lianne Carroll; April 24th Tammy Weis;
April 25th Sara Colman.
As the son of Mel Torme Steve's influences are obvious; he undeniable adds his own stamp on the material he presents and offers up standards as well as original compositions which amply showcase his "joyous sense of swing rhythm" (LA Times).
