When MICHAEL FEINSTEIN performed at London's Shaw Theatre in January, he made thousands of new friends and fans with his dynamic show and personal charm. In September he returned to the UK for a handful of special live concerts including four complete sellout gigs at the Shaw.
A phenomenal musician, musical historian, and incomparable raconteur, Michael dedicated his shows to the memory of The Chairman, Frank Sinatra, whose music forms the basis of Michael's latest cd, 'The Sinatra Project'.
"It's not easy to pay proper tribute to a legend," says Michael, "especially when it's the most extraordinary of legends, Frank Sinatra...but producer Bill Elliott and I came up with a concept that takes a slightly different 'what if' scenario to some of the arranagements by interpreting them in conceptually different styles from his own renditions." Recorded with a 60 piece big band at the famous Capitol Studios in Hollywood, recording home of many of the greats including Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Peggy Lee and Sinatra himself. Tracks include Exactly Like You, There's A Small Hotel, Fools Rush In, The Song Is You, The Same Hello, Begin The Beguine.
