“…buoyed along on a rapid current of associations…the effect is propulsively kinetic and visual and, wisely, never preachy…” (The Times)
“…integrating dance and film is hardly new, but such impressive results most definitely are…rather than merely providing a backdrop the film creators use multiple projection technology to create a world in which the dancers move, on and through the images…with Scattered Kevin Finnan and his talented dancers have taken the company to a new level.” (Dancing Times)
MOTIONHOUSE DANCE THEATRE, currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, has built up a formidable reputation for work that is as thought provoking as it is gravity defying. Since co-founding the company in 1988, Kevin Finnan and Louise Richards have built the company into a business with state of the art studios in Leamington Spa, a full education programme, annual sellout tours and a passion for pushing the boundaries of physical theatre. Productions such as 'Volatile', 'Perfect', 'Driven' and this year's 'Scattered' have seen the company perform to ever growing audiences at venues across the UK and Europe.
SCATTERED, directed by the visionary Kevin Finnan, sees the company on new and impressive form. Moving away from the scaffolding of Volatile and Perfect, SCATTERED is performed on an infinity stage where movement and film integrate seamlessly. Using projection created by award-winning Spanish filmmakers, Logela, Finnan has created a world of water where athletic movement blends visually and literally with film.
