DV8 PHYSICAL THEATRE, led by Artistic Director Lloyd Newson, were nominated for an Olivier Award for 'To Be Straight With You' which toured throughout 2008 and 2009. Newson led a multi-ethnic cast in a poetic but unflinching exploration of tolerance, intolerance, religion and sexuality. 'To Be Straight With You' was based on hundreds of hours of audio interviews collected throughout the UK.

DV8 Physical Theatre was formed in 1986 and has been led since its inception by Lloyd Newson. The company has produced 16 highly acclaimed dance pieces, which have toured internationally, and four award-winning films for television including 'THE COST OF LIVING' which has, to date, racked up over 15 international awards including a Rose D'Or and a Prix Italia. 'The Cost Of Living' is also available on dvd.
