In April Candoco will premiere a brand new triple bill, 'RENDITIONS', featuring work by dynamic choreographers Emanuel Gat, Sarah Michelson and Wendy Houstoun. Dates to follow.
Led by Artistic Directors, Pedro Machado and Stine Nilsen, CANDOCO continue to blaze the trail set by Founding Patron, Celeste Dandeker when she set up the company with Adam Benjamin in 1991. CANDOCO's crowning moment in 2008 came with their performance at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics - a thrilling and unique experience for everyone involved.
In another ground breaking initiative, the company has created MOVING BODIES, a dynamic new regional art development programme taking place in five regions across the UK between 2008 and 2011 and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. Working closely with schools in given regions, MOVING BODIES involves primary school children and their teachers as well as professional dancers in a bid to continue the pushing of boundaries through contemporary dance.
